It was at age 16 when Nik left home for Oskarshamn, Sweden to attend a specialized high school where he would major in music, more specifically "Afro American Music" which meant the study of Blues, Jazz and Pop Rock. With his ear bent towards American Music, moving to the United States to master his talent was always the plan after graduating from high school. As soon as the time was right, Nik packed up his guitar and made his way to America with his sites set on continuing his education in Jazz studies. His first stop was none other than Hollywood California where he spent a year at the Musicians Institute studying with nationally known Jazz Fusion artists’ Scott Henderson and Dan Gilbert.

Although Nik enjoyed being in sunny California he was continually striving to improve his skills. Time and time again it was the University of North Texas that made it’s way into the conversations whenever "Jazz studies" was the topic of discussion. It wasn’t long before Nik decided to make the move to the Big "D" where he has spent the last three years earning his degree in Jazz Studies at UNT. With hard work and long hours in the practice rooms he has worked his way into the 3 O’Clock lab band, the renowned Zebras Fusion lab and has also completed studies with Russ Ferraute a former member of the famous Jazz band "The Yellow Jackets."

Nik’s musical interests stretch into Pop Rock and Funk as well, which is why joining TOP was the obvious choice for him. "TOP allows me to play all types of music, we are not locked into just one style which is also a big part of the bands’ appeal. Being a versatile musician is important to me and with TOP I’m able to feed all of my musical tastes."
